The resort of federal significance Svetlogorsk (Raushen) has rightfully a status of the pearl of the Russian Baltic seacoast, and century-old traditions contribute much to this. Multiplying medical specialization of the city, local sanatoriums still practice a wide range of sanative procedures, from mud and water cure to exclusive amber therapy.

In the remote XIX-th century the King of Prussia Friedrich Wilhelm IV visited the town and the places here charmed him with their romanticism. At the monarch's dictation comfortable descending stairs were constructed, quays were fastened. In the first years of the XX-th century in Raushen the wealthiest citizens of Koenigsberg undertook construction of country houses, villas and pensions, which had architectural forms of fashionable in those times historism.

Naturally, sea is the main thing here. The half-kilometer promenade includes a dozen of restaurants and cafes. There is the whole range of water amusements at the holidaymakers disposal, starting from modern hydro-motorcycles to traditional water bicycles. Cozy pensions and hotels offer their services to any taste and purse, and leisure industry is designed for a maximum pleasant occupation. And all this is on the background of sand beaches and unique slopes up to 20 meters high, making a picturesque edge of the sea. Sea, to which you want to return every summer.
