1st Day:
Arrive Gdansk; overnight accommodation at a city-centre hotel.
2nd Day:
Morning sightseeing tour of Gdansk old town with its Gothic churches, and Renaissance houses. The tour passes through the Upland Gate, formally the city's most magnificent entrance gate and the beginning of the Royal Route for centuries. It is followed by a visit to Dlugi Targ (the Long Market), the Golden Gate (XVII century) and Green Gate (XVI century), and to Arthur's Court and the Neptune Fountain which stands in front of the church of the Holy Virgin Mary. We then drive to nearby Oliwa with its Cathedral built by the Cistercians who settled here in 1186. The Cathedral boasts unique baroque and rococo masterpieces and the famous Oliwa organ. Overnight stay in Gdansk.
3rd Day:
Round trip to Mazurian Lakes. You'll enjoy beautiful landscapes dotted with more than 300 lakes. A short boat trip takes you through some of the lakes and along the small rivers which link them. Overnight stay in a local hotel.
4th Day:
From Mazury we travel through Johannisburger Heide on Spirding Lake to Nieder Lake, Krutynien and Eckersdorf, where we visit the Orthodox church and monastery. A short boat trip brings us back to Mazury. Overnight stay in Mazury.
5th Day:
Departure to Kaliningrad through Swieta Lipka, one of the region's most famous monasteries. After an evening organ concert in the monastery church we cross the border into the Kaliningrad region. Accommodation at a hotel in the centre of Kaliningrad.
6th Day:
Morning sightseeing tour of Kaliningrad which includes the 13th century cathedral, the tomb of Immanuel Kant, the Amber museum, old fortified walls and gates and monuments by German sculptors. In the afternoon we drive to Svetlogorsk, a resort on the Baltic coast.
Overnight in Kaliningrad.
7th Day:
Excursion along the Curonian Spit national park which includes a visit to the regional museum and ornithological station.
Overnight in Kaliningrad.
8th Day:
Depart Kaliningrad.
